  1. Hi Sam

I am on the programming committee for MIMA and would like to talk to you about the possibility of speaking on design research at our annual Summit, which this year is on 10/15/13 in Minneapolis, MN.

Founded in 1998, MIMA is the oldest interactive association in the US. MIMA has over 1300 members in marketing, creative, UX, technology, interactive design etc. fields, coming from companies that range from Fortune 500 to non profits, large agencies to independents.  More information can be found at www.mima.org.

The Summit draws about 1100 people and the tracks this year include Experience Design (my track), Data and Insights, Reputation and Influence, Digital Workflow and more. Our keynote is Nate Silver – pretty excited about that. Some preliminary info is here http://www.mima.org/events/event/2013-mima-summit Also check out last year’s Summit lineup at http://2012.mimasummit.org/ The speakers I brought in for the Designing Interactive Experiences track commented that they don’t see such diverse conferences much anymore.

Thanks so much for your consideration – Could be a good place to test put content for your book. I look forward to talking to you about this opportunity.

  2. Sam,
I am currently the president of the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology. We would like to invite you to be a plenary speaker at our annual meeting this coming October. Our meeting is in Pittsburgh, PA. The plenary session we would like you to speak at is on Saturday the 11th. Thank you, Bob

  3. Hey Sam! The book looks FANTASTIC!

Are you going to EPIC? Do you know why I can’t find your email address? (Possible answer: Erickson is a dunderhead for not using an old fashioned Rollidex!).

  4. Hi Ms. Ladner,

My name is Lillian, and I’m currently a sophomore at Yale University. I’m very interested in ethnographic consulting, and I’m drawn to your own unique perspective on how to maximize the effectiveness of research. I was wondering if Copernicus Consulting is looking to hire interns this summer. I would love the opportunity to work for such an innovative company.

  6. Hi Sam,
I’ve watching the video of the 2 hour presentation you did at Epic Montreal last fall. I coudn’t get it in unfortunately but lucky me, the presentation was recorded and available on Epic’s website. I enjoyed every bit of it and found you so inspiring that I thought I would let you know. Your work makes so much sense for all of us (user researcher – ux designers and whatever the name is..). Thanks for all of this.
